M5 Networks Brings Hosted VoIP to Chicago

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Chicago SMBs now have access to another provider of hosted VoIP phone system. M5 Networks, an outsourced IP phone system provider, has announced its expansion to the Chicago, IL metropolitan area. The company has already seen six successful years of reliable IP phone system deployments in the New York metro area. Chicago is the second major metropolitan area the company serves with a full sales and implementation staff.

While M5 likes to tout that it has a reputation for quality and reliability among SMBs, the claim is validated by a recent AMI Partners study that highlights the company as one of the trop two leading independent service providers that SMBs look to for their hosted VoIP solutions.

“The Chicago market is ripe for a boom in business-class VoIP services,” said Fred Hoch, President, and Illinois IT Association (ITA), in a statement. “We’ve seen demand for reliable VoIP services from many Chicago-area businesses in the planning and early deployment phases.”

Hoch added: “Businesses don’t want to deal with the hassle of buying and maintaining a phone system – instead they can turn to a service provider such as M5 Networks to provide the kind of quality service and support that organizations can truly trust.”

The Royal Danish Consulate is one Chicago-based organization that has implemented M5’s hosted VoIP phones system. As part of a global network of officers in sixty-five countries under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Consulate relies heavily on flexibility, reliability and value-added features of hosted VoIP services.

The Consulate demands these features in a hosted VoIP solution to support the services it performs, ranging from assisting Danish tourists and citizens in the Midwest to helping Danish businesses establish a presence in U.S. markets.

“We absolutely have to be accessible to Danish citizens in times of distress, so our phone system’s reliability is vital to effectively serving Danes in the Midwest. M5’s IP phone system delivers the quality and reliability we require,” said Mads Mikkelsen, Counsel General, Royal Danish Consulate, in Thursday’s statement.

“Also, M5’s system is so flexible and easy to use that it helps us stay productive, even on a global scale, which is essential to the nature of our work. We can plug into the Chicago office’s phone system from headquarters in Denmark – or anywhere in the world – and still have the full functionality of our phones,” concluded Mikkelsen.

An IT infrastructure consulting firm headquartered in Chicago also uses M5’s service. RapidApp sought a solution that was low cost, easy to use, flexible and reliable. The company has remote offices dispersed throughout North America and the flexibility of the system and support from M5’s staff also enabled the company to easily move its headquarters.

The expansion to the Chicago marketplace builds upon M5’s foundation of successful operations and profitability in the New York area.  The company saw a 4,445 percent growth in revenues over the last five years and in 2006, secured the first round of venture capital funding in the company’s history to fuel further expansions.

VoIP continues to be in high demand in the SMB market as these organizations must have access to the same technologies as their larger competitors, yet at a price that can stay within their comfort zone.

Hosted VoIP solutions can meet all criteria, providing these organizations with a solution that is flexible, scalable, reliable and within their budget. As such, these SMBs can focus their efforts on serving their customer base with a higher standard of service.
