Intelliverse Improves VoIP Quality for SMBs
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Aiming to dispel businesses’ concerns over VoIP quality, IP communications provider Intelliverse announced it has improved the quality and reliability for its hosted VoIP services, Talking Planet Business and callEverywhere. The company has implemented a comprehensive media path optimization (MPO) that is expected to ensure top performance and quality on all calls for Intelliverse’s customers.
The completion of the MPO project has enabled Intelliverse to release calls back to the carrier that will allow the Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP ) stream to flow directly from the originating caller to the called party, without being pined up through Intelliverse’s switches. The result is a minimized path that the call must take over the Internet and through the carriers’ network. The quality of the call is increased as the latency is reduced.
“Intelliverse’s top priority is, and always has been, to provide our customers with the highest quality of experience possible. With over 20 years of experience in the TDM world, our goal is to ensure that the reliability and quality of VoIP calls matches that of our TDM service,” said Kevin M. Moran, president and CEO of Intelliverse, in a statement.
As turnkey solutions, Talking Planet and callEverywhere are fully customizable to meet business objectives, maximize profitability and extend competitive advantage. Talking Planet Business is a hosted VoIP service that is sold to service providers, while callEverywhere is the same solutions sold through the agent channel. Deployments generally include 4-port and 8-port IAD units combined with residential units and SoftPhones when needed.
Intelliverse has done well to recognize the challenges in VoIP adoption for the enterprise. By addressing the demands of the SMB, the company also recognizes that these companies want the same communications capabilities as their competitors that still fit in with their smaller budgets.
The company is also meeting the needs of service providers by supplying hosted services that are in demand that will enable them to drive revenue. This also helps to create a greater need for the solutions that Intelliverse provides, securing their place in the market.
