Arcosoft Inc. has released VONaLink TeamRecord, which works with any VoIP
phone system based on the open SIP standard, such as Asterisk or Vonage (
News -
Alert), to centrally record all phone calls for a company workgroup. Earlier TeamRecord was available only for Windows.
The company points out that call recording allows business transactions over the phone to be verified and resolves disputes. Calls are recorded with either analog equipment or expensive, proprietary products from the phone company with the traditional phone systems. Thanks to the latest VoIP systems built on open, standard protocols, calls can be recorded by monitoring network packets.
According to a
press release, VONaLink TeamRecord runs on x86 Linux or Windows. Using the port mirroring capability of a network switch, TeamRecord unobtrusively accesses voice data. Any additional software is not required to be installed at each workstation.
While the call is recorded as a stereo WAV or MP3, an inaudible watermark can be added to the recording for later verification that the file has not been changed. Recordings of their own calls can be listened by the users from any web browser.
Arcosoft Inc., was recently in news for announcing the release of VONaLink SoloRecord for Mac OS X. Working with any VoIP phone system based on the open SIP
standard, such as Vonage, SoloRecord can record phone calls and provide screen pops. If recording is not required the solution is also available is a separate ScreenPop product. SoloRecord and ScreenPop were available only for Windows previously.
Founded in 1997, Arcosoft Inc., is the developer of VONaLink VoIP call recording software and RunFAX fax server. Other products in the VONaLink suite include SoloRecord and ScreenPop for Windows and Mac OS X.
