Ping Through SpinVox Helps Vocalize Twitters

By Vivek Naik, TMCnet Contributor

SpinVox (News - Alert) has announced that findings from a recent survey of people who use Ping through SpinVox to post Twitter updates enjoy a more freedom as they can twitter anywhere, at any time and are creating new words and expressions at a very rapid rate.

“People are sharing information from places they wouldn’t normally be able to or from where they’d feel comfortable doing so and this is clearly affecting the choice of words and phrases they use and indicates about what they want to have conversations," said Christina Domecq (News - Alert), Co-founder and CEO of SpinVox.

As TMCnet has reported, SpinVox’s patented Voice To Text (VTT) application, ‘Voice Message Conversion System’ (VMCS), has been upgraded to hear, understand, record and use more than 70 new phonetic sounds and sound combinations per week. Over the last three months, it has also successfully added 6000 new words and phrases to its online English language Voxgeist dictionary.

The survey also uncovered that 84 percent of respondents tweet in public while travelling, 23 percent tweet from the privacy of the bathroom, 13 percent tweet while using a treadmill, 25 percent tweet while jogging in the park, 37 percent while shopping, 17 percent while cooking, 8 percent when enjoying outdoor events such as music festivals, and 5 percent while waiting in line to get into events such as football games.

The Ping through SpinVox voice-powered social network service has been welcomed by Twitters who want a Twitter to capture the emotion of the live moment and do not wish to be tied down to broadband and fixed keyboard connectivity.

“Ping through SpinVox means using Twitter no longer has to be manual and static and this is creating a particular language and messaging behavior," said Domecq.
"Twitter is a huge phenomenon that is changing the way that millions of people interact with each other and in doing so is spawning a new and dynamic dictionary," also commented Domecq.

Some of the most popular new words and phrases, or ‘Twitterverse’, that are defining communication styles in the ‘Twittersphere’ via SpinVox’s online English language Voxgeist dictionary are:

Hashtag – a noun that indicates a way of marking an event or common theme, for example, “I’m off to Mobile Geeks of New York” is entered as “#MGoNY”
Dabr - noun, indicating a mobile Web interface for Twitter
Twetiquette- a term that indicates appropriate behavior when using Twitter
Twitpoll - noun, indicating a survey or question posed on Twitter, often for research and sometimes just for fun, for example, “Which shoes should I buy?”
Tweetdeck - noun, indicating one of the most popular desktop interfaces for Twitter.
