Voice Mobility Adds Concierge, an Application Server to its UC Product Suite

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

Vancouver-based Voice Mobility (News - Alert) International, a developer and provider of carrier and enterprise unified communications (UC) solutions, has announced the introduction of Concierge as part of its UC product suite.

“Concierge delivers all the functionality that our unified communications products deliver without the voicemail,” said Rob Collins (News - Alert), Voice Mobility’s Director of Marketing. “VMI developed Concierge in response to our customers’ requirements for unified communications applications that integrate with their existing equipment at an affordable price point.”

Concierge is a next generation solution which enhances voice, speech and IVR applications required in business critical processes (CEBP). It works by integrating legacy applications with new solutions for delivering functionalities like Presence, Secure IM and Computer Telephony Interfaces (CTI (News - Alert)).

Customers can choose one or all of the available applications when using Concierge or they can custom build their own applications. The applications include Messenger which enables notification and delivery of messages with integration to Outlook for contact information delivery.

A communicator allows secure Instant Messaging and the Group Alert provides emergency event notification with broad based delivery options. Concierge includes Speak Up!, a Nuance powered speech tool with speech attendant, LDAP look up, Text to Speech and Speech to Text.

The other applications include a recorder which records voice messages with delivery to email for replay/transcription, FAX Manager for inbound/outbound, on-demand Fax service and Rendezvous a conference meeting place.

Concierge also includes a Hospitality suite with a hotel/motel or campus package with an open API for custom applications. An archive is present which offers mirror images for corporate disaster recovery or regulatory requirements.

“Our partners were crucial in assisting us to pinpoint this opportunity. We discovered that packaging our applications in a single, scalable, open standards platform that integrates with existing PBX (News - Alert) platforms (TDM or SIP), voicemail and UC solutions is paramount for our customers,” said Dave Ballins, Voice Mobility’s Director of Channels, North America.

The new software from Voice Mobility runs on industry standard hardware like that of IBM (News - Alert), Dell, or HP. It delivers applications from a single point of administration and can also operate in stand alone, N+1, geo-redundant and high availability configurations.
