Funkwerk and Addix Unveil New IP PBX Systems for Small Businesses

By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor

Funkwerk Enterprise Communications (News - Alert) GmbH and Addix Software have jointly announced that they developed new IP PBX systems for small businesses with the IP Astimax-1100 and IP-2100.

Under the terms of their partnership, both the IP PBX (News - Alert) systems will be sold exclusively through the ADDIX Software GmbH and its certified dealer partners.
The new IP-PBX systems are targeted at SEMs (small equipment manufactures) and are designed for 40-50 users or 120-150 users.
ASTIMAX is a PBX based on Asterisk (News - Alert) platform that is both an IP PBX and a hybrid system which is useful in connecting classical networks.
Both the new IP-PBX systems, IP Astimax-1100 and IP-2100, features embedded Linux platform and provide a range of features that include VoIP phone system solutions, such as a complete voice mail system, auto attendant functions or a conference server with multiple conference rooms.
Funkwerk Enterprise Communications is a Europe-based provider of network, communications, and IP security solutions. The company’s product portfolio comprises networking technologies, such as media gateways, unified access gateways, routers, and access points which are marketed under the product name of Bintec.
Both the new IP PBX systems can be bundled with company’s VoIP media gateways, the Bintec R1200 and R4100.
"By working together with Funkwerk, we bring together our respective strengths and thus strengthen our joint solution portfolio," commented Björn Schwarze, MD of ADDIX Software. "ASTIMAX IP-1100 and / or IP-2100 utilize all the advantages of an integrated communication solution and can work in a highly efficient manner."
Both the new systems require no licensing fees and by leveraging standard IP phones and soft phones (SIP), as well as a conference server, the systems offer more benefits than other competitive solutions.
Additionally, the Web-based user interface facilitates administrators to configure each individual employee configuration changes, which helps processing of clear call lists as well as the administration of mailboxes.
