By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

XCast Labs, a provider of SaaS digital voice and video solutions, recently announced it will achieve complete interoperability with Skype (News - Alert) by June 15, 2009 for its basic VoIP products and services. With this, customers of both XCast and Skype can communicate face-to-face and without paying a penny.

The interoperability will help XCast (News - Alert) to realize it goal of increased value in its services by introducing unrestricted calls between their own subscribers and millions of Skype users worldwide.
XCast gets more than 500 million minutes of telecom traffic annually, maintaining over 50,000 lines of video, voice and fax service through the Internet and guarantees a 99.995 percent uptime, which distinguishes it from most other VoIP companies.
When a Skype user calls an XCast customer, they are given a distinctive XCast Caller ID - any user can be called back directly from any XCast SIP device by simply referencing this unique ID. This also enables the Skype customer to place calls to XCast customers without having an actual number for the XCast customers to call them back on.
This service has been extended to both business and residential customers, free of cost, and are also available for end-users of Cable MSOs, CLECs, RLECs as well as marketing companies for whom XCast is providing the supporting VoIP services.
XCast has said it is now collaborating with various telecom service providers, businesses, cable service providers like Avenue Broadband, Integrated Telemanagement Services (ITS), Greenfield Communication Projects, UseeIsee and Telescope.
XCast Labs indigenous, fully hosted, IP-based integrated solution, Digital Voice and Video (DV& V), provides Class 5 switch facilities along with MIR (Most Intelligent Routing), Video Telephony, IP PBX (News - Alert), SIP Trunking and other state of the art IP applications including video conferencing.
