Sipera Systems Intros Distributed Workforce Communications Solution

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Sipera Systems, a provider of real-time unified communications (UC) security, has announced the availability of a distributed workforce communications solution - Sipera (News - Alert) Business Continuity Communications Solution (SBCCS).

The solution enables enterprises to establish a comprehensively secure voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), video, messaging, collaboration and other UC for a geographically extended and dispersed employee base.

SBCCS is central to an enterprise's Pandemic Planning and Disaster Recovery strategies and allows enterprise to extend rich, fully functional communications to any worker in any location with IP network connectivity. The offering also includes full encryption, access control, policy enforcement and other security as required by statute or business best practice.

This allows enterprises to plan for better workforce flexibility and availability in responding to public health concerns, such as the recent Swine Flu (H1N1 Virus); natural disasters such as hurricanes and earthquakes; national security issues, and other crises.

Andy Asava, vice president of worldwide sales at Sipera, said that company’s UC-Sec solutions enable and secure complete UC services at employee’s homes and remote offices, without requiring anything more than existing office VoIP phones and laptop PCs.

“This enables ongoing business operations outside enterprise headquarters, to remote workers wherever they might be and whenever circumstances dictate staff should not commute to their usual workplaces,” he added.

Officials said that this latest offering is based on successful deployments of business continuity communications for Sipera's customers in the financial services, healthcare, and education sectors. Also, it’s based on company’s work with government entities and extensive experience with communications security best practices.

Earlier this year, Belltech, an advanced communication solutions integrator based in Chile, announced the deployment of the Sipera realtime UC security appliances at BCI (Banco de Crédito e Inversiones).
