EasyRun Opts For Xorcom's Asterisk-Based XR3000 IP-PBX

By Michael Dinan, TMCnet Editor

In a sign of the cost-saving potential of both VoIP and open source solutions, a contact center solutions company with U.S. headquarters in Monroe, Connecticut today announced that a new product will be delivered on an IP-PBX (News - Alert) appliance from an Israel-based manufacturer.

Officials at EasyRun Inc. say their so-called “EPICAcce contact center” product will be delivered over Xorcom’s XR3000 IP-PBX. Xorcom’s (News - Alert) business telephony interfaces and appliances are based on Asterisk open source software.

According to Shlomo Shur, EasyRun’s chief executive officer, the company chose Xorcom’s IP-PBX as its voice platform for the EPICAcce because it includes a complete solution that integrates seamlessly with legacy and IP-PBX environments.

This extended functionality allows customers to add our robust contact center solution into their existing telephony infrastructure without having to make unnecessary hardware changes,” Shur said. “It enables them to achieve their business goals in the most cost effective manner.”

And that’s a goal that is emerging as a priority in more and more boardrooms as this economic slowdown protracts.

Specifically, EasyRun officials say, the EPICAcce is a comprehensive VoIP contact center solution designed to control, manage, monitor and support blended multimedia inbound/outbound corporate communication channels.

For Eran Gal, chief executive officer of Xorcom, the joint solution’s cost savings will be key to its wide adoption.

The market is changing quickly, Gal said.

“Customers are increasingly reluctant to buy monster solutions that bind them to expensive contracts just to get a specific module,” Gal said. “The brilliance of the EPICAcce solution is its ability to bring state-of-the-art contact center functionality to the organization, with all IP-PBX capabilities built in. As a result, the customer doesn’t have to replace the phone system, thereby saving time, money and uncertainty in the implementation.”

According to Xorcom, the XR3000 IP-PBX (pictured right) is a stand-alone appliance that runs Asterisk (News - Alert) and Astribank VoIP telephony interfaces on a standard 19-inch 2U rack-mountable chassis.

“It features easy-to-use, reliable, high-bandwidth and high-density USB2 technology and supports all the main analog and digital telephony interfaces, including FXS, FXO, E1/T1 PRI, E1 R2 and BRI,” company officials say.
