Agito Networks' Enterprise Fixed Mobile Convergence Solution Now Avaya Compliant

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Agito Networks Inc., a company delivering new technology in enterprise mobility, has announced that the latest release of its enterprise fixed mobile convergence (eFMC) solution is now compliant with key IP PBX (News - Alert) solutions from Avaya, a global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

Businesses can increase the productivity of their mobile workers, while also reducing costs thanks to Agito Networks’ (News - Alert) RoamAnywhere Mobility Router v2.0. This solution adds support for dual persona, secure remote voice, high availability and other key enterprise-class functionalities.

To help drive adoption, the application is now compliance-tested by Avaya (News - Alert) for compatibility with the company’s lineup of Media Servers, including the S8300 Server with Avaya Communication Manager 5.1, SIP Enabled Services 5.1, IA770 Intuity (5.0), Modular Messaging Server (4.0), and lineup of desk phones, including the 9600 Series IP Telephones (H.323 1.5) (SIP 2.0.3), and 2400 Series Digital Phone (5.0).

"As a Gold-level member of the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program, Agito has been working closely with Avaya since before the company launched to deliver compliance-tested Unified Communications solutions to joint customers," said Mark Cashman, Agito Networks vice president of business development, in a Wednesday statement.

"Similar to Agito's initial RoamAnywhere release, this compliance announced today enables joint customers to benefit from Avaya's market-leading mid-call control features delivered to users' handsets via RoamAnywhere v2.0, enabling users to be more accessible and productive, while reducing enterprise telecommunications costs."

Agito Networks has been able to benefit from its Gold membership in the Avaya DevConnect program. This initiative was put in place to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.

The Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, New Jersey accepts products for testing by a team of Avaya engineers. A comprehensive test plan is developed for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant.

Such testing helps to ensure that businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure to speed the deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

"By participating in Avaya's compliance testing program and committing to open standards, development partners like Agito Networks are helping businesses get more out of their network investment," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya, in the Wednesday statement.

"Our customers are able to easily communications-enable critical business processes, change the way they work, and uncover new value that can help them build their bottom line."

The Avaya DevConnect program is one that has been able to create significant success for many third party vendors as these companies are able to extend their brand and their reach through the Avaya network. Such positioning opens up new opportunities and creates further adoption.

Agito Networks will also be able to capitalize on this program and its Gold membership. Not only is the company developing solutions that are meeting the demands of the enterprise today, it is ensuring that its solutions interoperate with current implementations.
