Evangelyze, Quintum Collaborate on SmartVoIP Solution

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Evangelyze Communications has released its SmartVoIP solution, which enables the integration of Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 with Microsoft Response Point. This solution has been developed in collaboration with Quintum (News - Alert) by utilizing its Tenor VoIP switches and gateways.

Evangelyze is offering its SmartVoIP solution as part of a new package named Evangelyze Communications SmartUC. The package also contains chat and Web conference scheduling solutions for Office Communications Server 2007. A Microsoft Gold Certified Partner as well as a Quintum Certified Partner, Evangelyze Communications focuses on Microsoft Unified Communications (News - Alert), VoIP products and services.

Microsoft Response Point is an IP phone system being used by small businesses. With the integration of Microsoft Unified Communication Technologies with Microsoft Response Point, long distance telephone charges between branches and remote offices of organizations can be eliminated. The SmartVoIP solution utilizes NET (News - Alert) Quintum telephony gateway products to connect branches and remote offices by using scalable direct extension dialing.

The SmartVoIP solution provides unified messaging for the users of both Microsoft Office Communications Server and Response Point. This includes voice mail messages as well as missed call notifications. Microsoft Response Point systems are also provided with the ability to use T1/E1/FXO/FXS and the support to enable SIP trunking, fax, PSTN and Office Communications Server connectivity by the SmartVoIP solution.

Quintum Technologies, a part of Network Equipment Technologies (News - Alert), offers VoIP access switching and gateway solutions that have been deployed in enterprise network throughout the world. The Quintum Tenor solution ensures that telephone communications remain active even in the case of an IP PBX (News - Alert) network failure. The solution which also offers protection of voice quality and ease of ownership is easy to install since it is compatible across PBX and IP PBX environments and does not require any PBX modifications or additional equipment.

According to Chuck Rutledge, vice president of marketing at Network Equipment Technologies, Evangelyze has been able to successfully package its Microsoft unified communications technologies and Response Point expertise with the NET Quintum VoIP switch and gateway technology to arrive at a solution that supports Response Point systems in a Microsoft unified communications deployment.
