Shared Technologies to Resell Sipera VoIP Security Line

By Greg Galitzine, Group Editorial Director

Richardson-based Sipera Systems has announced that Shared Technologies (News - Alert) will resell Sipera’s IPCS product line as part of its own product portfolio. Shared Technologies has extensive experience in enterprise VoIP deployments, with security as a top priority.

The Sipera IPCS line incorporates a variety of sophisticated VoIP-specific security techniques including anomaly detection, filtering, behavior learning, and verification into a single security device. This protects against VoIP-specific attacks from brute-force, distributed flood attacks to the more sophisticated reconnaissance, stealth and spam attacks.

Sipera products are deployed within enterprise networks to protect both the infrastructure and end-users from a wide range of malicious, application-specific attacks and service abuse. With the same device, Sipera also can enable enterprises to securely deploy VoIP remote users and SIP trunks, and meet IM compliance requirements.

Regarding the newly forged deal with Sipera, Shared Technologies’ CTO Jeff Graham said, “As enterprises deploy VoIP for cost-savings and integrated IP communications benefits, it is essential that security be part of the total package. In reviewing the Sipera IPCS products, we found that they intelligently and proactively protect against DoS/DDoS floods, fuzzing, stealth and VoIP spam in real-time.

“Our company prides itself on its relationship with its employees, customers and partners like Sipera.”

Sipera’s President and CEO Seshu Madhavapeddy added, “In today’s fast-paced, changing IT environment, enterprise technology comes from multiple vendors, with different strengths and requirements. Shared Technologies takes the guess work out of enterprise VoIP deployments by offering the best, integrated solutions.”

Madhavapeddy continued, “Reseller relationships and strong vendor alliances are a key component of Sipera’s go-to-market strategy, and Shared Technologies has the expertise and customers to introduce Sipera solutions to enterprises across the U.S.”
