By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Motorola has expanded its IPTV (News - Alert) portfolio with a new Ecosystem Integration and Support service designed to help service providers in their IPTV deployments.

Motorola (News - Alert) portfolio includes communications infrastructure, enterprise mobility solutions, digital set-tops, cable modems, mobile devices and Bluetooth accessories. The company claims to develop technologies, products and services that make mobile experiences possible.

The new integration and support service is stated to contain the costs of IPTV deployment and integration for service providers. The company says that their clients will also be helped in faster roll out of new products and services.

"The integration of products and platforms from different vendors is a major challenge for service providers and operators moving into the IPTV market," said Michael Laraia, senior director, Customer Program Operations and Professional Services, Home & Networks Mobility, Motorola.

"Motorola’s IPTV Ecosystem Integration and Support Service is focused on tailoring IPTV systems to the unique business needs of each service provider. It’s another layer of expertise that our leadership in IP video technologies allows us to offer our customers, from design to deployment and management," he said.

According to Motorola, this integration service has helped Connexion Technologies, a fiber-optic amenity company in their successful rollout of IPTV services. Motorola acted as an overall system integrator and oversaw the deployment and integration of middleware, conditional access and video on demand (VOD) systems into the Motorola Headend environment.

Connexion is said to have benefited from the single point of interface that streamlined the deployment process and working with all the vendor partners. Motorola eliminated the costs of resources needed for deployment and integration.

“Deployment and integration of IPTV technology can delay service launch and cost additional money and resources if you don’t have a trusted partner to design the system right from the start,” said Glen Lang, founder of Connexion Technologies.” Motorola and its broad expertise and capabilities served a critical role in the successful rollout of IPTV services for our customers."

Motorola says that this suite of services is build on their expertise in video and IPTV technologies and service providers can be rest assured in improving their quality and also in maintaining customer loyalty by making use of the integration and support service.
