Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Cypress Communications for Hosted VoIP Solutions
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Cypress Communications ( News - Alert) has something new to brag about. The company has been recognized by Frost & Sullivan for its hosted VoIP offering. Cypress is now the recipient of the prestigious 2007 Frost & Sullivan ( News - Alert) North American Product Innovation Award in the field of hosted VoIP solutions for telecom disaster recovery.
"We are honored to receive this award in recognition of our unique hosted VoIP offering with its comprehensive business continuity solution," said Frank Grillo ( News - Alert), executive vice president of marketing at Cypress Communications, in a Thursday statement.
“Many small-to-medium enterprises do not include voice system recovery as a part of their disaster recovery strategy due to the technologically complex and cost prohibitive nature of implementing such a solution. "However, the Cypress hosted VoIP solution, C4 IP , makes comprehensive business continuity a real possibility for the small-to-medium enterprise."
This award is presented every year by Frost & Sullivan to the company that has demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within its industry.
C4 IP, Cypress’ solution, is designed to integrate PBX functionality, unified messaging and multimedia capabilities in a single solution to help enterprises connect, communicate, collaborate and continue in the event of any disaster.
"With its highly resilient network architecture and commendable scalability, Cypress' C4 IP solution has been awarded the Frost & Sullivan North American Product Innovation Award," notes Frost & Sullivan Technical Insights ICT Manager, Vedavalli Rangan, in Thursday’s statement.
"The C4 IP hosted VoIP solution can help enterprises collaborate, even across multiple locations, thereby ensuring business continuity and enhancing communication with customers, vendors, partners and remote workers.”
Cypress operates a national private network designed specifically for VoIP. Engineered for 99.999 percent availability and local site survivability with no single point of failure, the network will automatically detect potential faults and self-correct. To ensure maximum availability of voice communications, the network is supported by redundant devices.
The functionality of the hosted VoIP solution is offered through distributed, carrier-grade switching and multimedia platform, the Nortel ( News - Alert) CS2000 and Nortel MCS5200. To offer resiliency, these platforms are located in hardened carrier grade collocation centers with dual power feeds, redundant generators and uninterrupted power supplies.
If a disaster occurs, employees can work from home, the business can move to another location and C4 IP keeps everyone connected to conduct business as usual. Continuous communication is ensured as communications intelligence is located on the network and not at the enterprise site.
This recognition from Frost & Sullivan is significant for Cypress Communications as this firm is well respected throughout the world as providing key insights into various industries with unbiased evaluations. Such a standing enables the organization to recognize those that truly are a ‘cut above’ in their industry.
Beyond this award, businesses throughout the country can benefit from Cypress Communications’ offerings as disaster recovery has to be a priority for every enterprise. The solution’s proven performance – in addition to this recognition – will help to drive demand and adoption.
Cypress will be showcasing the award-winning C4 IP solution January 23-25 at IT Expo in Miami. For a product demonstration, please visit Cypress Communications at IT Expo, booth #829 or contact Cypress at [email protected].
