IVT Completes Interoperability Testing on Citel's VoIP Adapter
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Intuitive Voice ( News - Alert) Technology (IVT) has completed interoperability testing on Citel’s Portico Telephone VoIP Adapter (TVA), which allows legacy handsets to connect to the award winning Evolution PBX platform.
Citel’s Portico TVA enables organizations to connect to digital (PBX), P phone (Centrex), and analog handsets directly to the Evolution PBX platform over existing wiring. Because legacy PBX telephones become new IP endpoints with a Portico TVA, replacement simply becomes unnecessary.
The Portico TVA can interoperate with over 100 handset types and easily scales with the growth of the enterprise. When new employees join an organization, they can simply utilize an available port or, when unit capacity is reached, companies can add another Portico unit or new IP Telephones.
Michael Burke, SVP Sales and Marketing, Citel said in a statement that the Intuitive Voice Technology ( News - Alert) Evolution PBX is a robust IP telephony solution designed for companies without a large in-house IT staff. He indicated that adding Citel’s Portico TVA, a straightforward, cost-effective VoIP migration solution, to IVT’s product line-up will enable them to become even more successful within this market.
Thanks to Intuitive Voice Technology’s Evolution PBX platform, VoIP service providers and telecom solution resellers will be able to deliver highly advanced PBX features at an affordable cost to the business customer. IVT points out that their IVT’s Evolution PBX software is one of the fastest growing Asterisk ( News - Alert)-based IP PBX solutions that run on the Linux platform.
Chris Jones, CEO of Intuitive Voice Technology said that their company is excited about adding legacy PBX handsets to Evolution PBX and giving their customers a migration path to VoIP.
Jones explained that giving their customers the ability to connect their existing Nortel, Avaya ( News - Alert), or Panasonic telephones offers them a tremendous cost savings in network infrastructure and telephony hardware.
Intuitive Voice Technology provides open source, Asterisk-based IP telephony systems.
