VoiP T1 Platform Provider Voiceworks Merges with TelcoBridges' Media Gateway Partner Program

By Tammy Wolf, TMCnet Copy Editor

TelcoBridges’ Media Gateway (News - Alert) Partner Program, which offers member partners improved channel pricing, fresh sales and training tools and product security through its suite of VoIP gateways – including VoIP T1 -- has gained the converged network solutions provided by VoIP T1 reseller Voiceworks B.V., to be sold, marketed and supported by its partners.

Voiceworks B.V., which is based in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, decided to merge with TelcoBridges (News - Alert) since it was “looking for products that changed the rules, products that made the impossible seem possible for the unbelievable seem believable,” said Daniel Paradis, vice president of global sales for TelcoBridges. With the addition of the VoIP gateways provided by TelcoBridges’ program, Voiceworks will gain STM-1 connectivity and synchronized SIP, SS7, SIGTRAN and ISDN signaling that carries across up to 2,048 “non-blocking” channels, in a cost-effective manner.

"As a supplier of telecommunications hardware to leading service providers, we are constantly on the lookout for transformative products,” said Stijn Nijhuis, purchasing director for Voiceworks. “We were initially skeptical when we heard of the density provided by the Tmedia family of VOIP gateways but indeed, as they say, 'seeing is believing.’ We are happy to say that 'yes,’ TelcoBridges has fit STM-1 connectivity as well as support for multiple concurrent TDM and IP signaling protocols into a single 1U box, and that we are proud to make such products available to our customers."

The connectivity selections provided through the media gateway partner program range from 1-1024 T1/E1/J1, 1-48 DS-3 or 1-16 STM-1 interfaces, which extend to more than 32,000 universal voice channels in a solitary system. In addition, the VoIP gateways offer high-density and energy-efficient signaling protocols – including SS7, ISDN, CAS R2, SIGTRAN, SIP and H.248 – which can all function simultaneously.

With T.38 fax relay and v.34 fax transmission all running with the power, cooling and rack space on one device, this allows the VoIP gateways to simultaneously perform the work of several devices, resulting in sufficient energy conservation.
