Sterling Commerce Discloses Mobile Applications StrategyBy Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor Sterling Commerce has announced plans to provide access to its core solutions such as Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Suite and Sterling Business Integration Suite for its customers through their mobile devices. With the help of Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Suite, clients can control their complex supply chain process from order capture to fulfillment. It also allows them to manage the collaborative process with your customers, suppliers and logistics partners. In addition, under the Collaborate to Innovate program, the company works with customers to define their mobile needs, most valuable use cases and enterprise mobile strategies as a part of its mobile applications development. "As mobile devices become more ubiquitous, customers are looking for the productivity gains that can be achieved by accessing our solutions from their desktop, the Internet or on mobile devices,' said Joel Reed, senior vice president, Product Management and Marketing, for Sterling Commerce (News - Alert). 'We are working closely with our customers to find opportunities to innovate and create mobile applications that can be used today." Sterling Commerce has a dedicated mobile applications development team in place which offers new applications each quarter. The company has selected to develop applications for Apple (News - Alert) iPhone and iPod Touch in the near future. The company has also begun development for deployment in Europe and is evaluating options for deployment in other regions.
