Tadiran to Provide IP Telephony Network to One of Vietnam's Largest Banks

From Hong Kong to Houston the global economic landscape more than ever is forcing companies to look far and wide for technology solutions that help ease bottom line burdens.

 

And while many tech sectors offer products and services aimed at reducing costs, perhaps no segment is delivering as much promise as telecom.

 

Global IP business telephony and communications player Tadiran (News - Alert) Telecom is one company extending its global reach with cost saving services. The Israel-based outfit recently announced the Bank of Investment and Development of Vietnam has picked its solutions to deploy throughout its operations.

 

Under the terms of the deal, Tadiran will provide an IP telephony network of 60 systems and sites throughout Vietnam. The project is valued at over $3 million.

 

The network will allow all of the Bank's branches to communicate toll free utilizing voice over IP (VoIP) telephony and IP Telephones.

 

Because the network architecture resembles a private network, every phone has a four digit number within the network, enabling seamless communication between branches, according to the company.

 

"Vietnam is one of the fastest growing ICT markets in the world. Vietnamese companies and institutions seek the cost-efficiency and flexibility provided by IP telephony networks and we are happy to oblige." said Zeev Aviv, vice president of Sales and Marketing at Tadiran Telecom.

 

As TMCnet recently reported, the Tadiran Coral Sea Softswitch has been saving companies on conference call costs, as well as providing a centralized management for remote users for some time now.

 

While big players Avaya, Alcatel, Siemens (News - Alert) and NEC had also vied for the deal with one of Vietnam’s top banks, it was Tadiran Telecom's reliability and flexibility, critical requirements in financial organizations that led BIDV, according to Aviv.

 

"The contract with BIDV further strengthens our position in two of our strategically chosen markets: Bank telephony networks and the emerging Vietnam ICT market."
