NTT Com to launch Global Messaging-a SaaS E-mail and Groupware SolutionBy Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributing Editor NTT Communications (News - Alert) is gearing up to launch its Global Messaging solution, a SaaS e-mail and groupware solution.
The company said the Global Messaging service pack allows multinational enterprise to outsource management and operation of their e-mail and groupware systems to a software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) platform hosted by NTT Com’s secure data center in Hong Kong.
According to officials, the service pack will be provided under NTT Com’s BizCITY model, which enables enterprise services to be provided on an SaaS basis for secure access from anyplace at anytime.
Global Messaging enables enterprises to integrate multiple mail servers within NTT Com’s data center and then use the system for SaaS webmail.
Global Messaging groupware can be used for scheduling, file management, facility booking, and can also be provided on a SaaS basis. In addition, the service pack also includes network solutions for firewall and remote access via mobile handsets.
The pack is designed to provide customers flexibility in messaging systems for secure, stable communication environments. By using Global Messaging customers can also avoid the costs of installing and managing conventional, in-house mail and groupware systems.
The Global Messaging solution will be available initially in Mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam beginning April 1, 2009.
NTT Com says it delivers high-quality voice, data and IP services to customers around the world. The company is known for its diverse information and communication services, expertise in managed networks, hosting and IP networking services, and industry leadership in IPv6 transit technology.
The company’s extensive global infrastructure includes Arcstar private networks and a Tier 1 IP backbone (connected with major ISPs worldwide), both reaching more than 150 countries, as well as secure data centers in Asia, North America and Europe.
The company has also announced that Global Data Services JSC (GDS), its joint venture with Vietnam Posts & Telecommunications Group (VNPT), one of the largest telecom in Vietnam, will open a Tier 3-equivalent premium data center in Hanoi on April 12, 2009.
