EndStream Showcases New Mobile Application at ITEXPO EastBy Chris DiMarco, TMCnet Web Editor EndStream is a wholesale VoIP carrier offering termination, origination services, prepaid services, and a calling card platform. The team is also working on a new mobile dialer offering and is at this year’s ITEXPO (News - Alert) East to discuss and showcase the solution. Based on their switching platform, EndStream has developed a mobile app that can access their routing services via a mobile carrier. The application platform allows calling cards, IXC or fixed line provider, to access a mobile device for example and then charge the caller on a per minute basis from a separate account. During our interview the company’s CEO Erik Levitt used the application to dial a telephone number in Israel. Since the mobile dialer uses a data connection to signal the call but a voice network to transmit it, the connection to the number when live almost instantly. Even with an international number. The application can make for a substantially faster and more flexible service than with a SIP platform and has the ability to utilize Wi-Fi and 3G-4G data networks to provide seamless call access unlike with SIP. It also enables call recording giving it support for PCI (News - Alert) or HIPA compliance through a mobile service. The same tech can also be potential allow for an additional revenue streams by allowing those taking a call to bill the in-dialer directly. Levitt gave the example of a lawyer being contacted by a client. “Now instead of having to bill them after the fact, they can say, ‘alright this is X customer, bill case 365’ which makes it a lot easier than trying to get money for them after the fact.” These are only a few examples of what this technology is capable of and EndStream is encouraging developers to utilize it in whatever capacity they can think of. “Were trying to encourage developers to use this application to develop their own solutions since there are really so many possibilities,” Levitt said.
