Jaymie Scotto & Associates Facilitates Networking for New Telecom Companies at ITEXPO East 2011

By Juliana Kenny, TMCnet Web Editor

The ITEXPO (News - Alert) East 2011 conference in Miami is already underway with Editors’ Day and Telecom One-on-One, a fabulous networking event for telecommunications companies who want to meet new organizations in the industry, as well as catch up with existing partners and customers.

Collocated along with 12 other events at ITEXPO East 2011, the Telecom One-on-One event brings together leading players in the telecom industry to discuss new solutions, new possible partnerships, and the latest developments in the marketplace for experienced companies as well as start-ups. The networking event is designed to be a “speed-dating” experience where company representatives can meet for up to 20 minutes at a time.

One of the participants of Telecom One-on-One, One Source (News - Alert) Networks, found the “speed-dating style” set-up of the event rather effective for “meeting new companies in a condensed amount of time,” according to Gina Nomellini, chief marketing officer for One Source Networks. Telecom One-on-One “gives us the opportunity to network with suppliers, customers, and to work with media,” Nomellini said in an interview. As a provider of carrier agnostic solutions based in VoIP, One Source Networks found the event to be a great “reciprocal buy-sell session.”

Developed by Jaymie Scotto, CEO and founder of JS&A, the concept for the “speed-dating” type of event that is Telecom One-on-One sprouted from an experience she had while working as the head of marketing and PR for Telx. Tasked to coordinate one-on-one type of events for upwards of 300 people all on Microsoft (News - Alert) Excel, she “went bleary-eyed,” understandably. She thought, there must be a way to coordinate all the meetings more easily onto one platform, and soon had an IT guy on-hand to make it happen.

Thus was born DealCenter: Software designed as an online meeting center, and the platform that fully powered the Telecom One-on-One event. The brainchild of JS&A, DealCenter is leveraged for many networking events which are able to rely fully on the platform’s centralized technology.

According to Scotto, “20 minutes is just the right amount of time” for new companies to figure out if the company they’re meeting with is a good fit for them or not. Telecom One-on-One provides this unique and efficient experience.

With two events in 2010 supported by DealCenter, and with the help of TMCnet, Jaymie Scotto & Associates was able to bring the technology and host its valuable clients at ITEXPO East 2011. Happy networking!
