3CX VoIP Phone Systems Offers Benefits for Resellers, Businesses

By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Contributor

Many businesses and resellers, large and small, are looking for ways to cut costs and finding that their phone systems are a good place to start. Desk phones—especially multimedia models—tied to proprietary PBXs can be expensive to buy and maintain. A less expensive option that’s becoming more popular is installing softphones on employee computers.

The popularity of VoIP phone systems represents a significant opportunity for communications product resellers. Yet, with so many options to choose from, resellers may feel a bit overwhelmed.

888VoIPStore’s mission is to cut through the confusion. The online distributor’s top recommendation for a VoIP business phone solution is 3CX, a software-based IP PBX (News - Alert) designed to replace proprietary, hardware-based PBXs. 888VoIPStore recommends the system to resellers for many reasons -- prime among them that 3CX is based on the SIP standard and integrates smoothly with Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows.

Resellers looking to increase their profits by better serving customers will find 3CX’s benefits compelling. The system features a Web-based configuration interface for easy installation and management, has a variety of powerful features including extension management, and allows businesses to choose among a wide range of IP hardware phones or softphones—no vendor lock-in.

3CX’s developers recognized that resellers and their customers need affordable, scalable VoIP phone system solutions that work with existing software like Microsoft windows. 3XC fits all those criteria. It comes in a variety of editions, including one for hotels and a special small business package.

The flexibility and interoperability of 3CX is nothing new; it’s had those features for years. Back in 2007, the company’s CEO, Nick Galea, said that traditional, proprietary phone systems shackle businesses with outdated technology that’s expensive and time-consuming to manage.

“We remove that shackle-bind by liberating the PBX from the proprietary hardware,” Galea said in a TMCnet report. “As software running on Windows, it is much more flexible and can finally integrate with the Windows business applications we use each day and takes IP Telephony to an entirely new level.”

3CX has been busy this fall continuing its tradition of developing interoperable solutions for resellers and end-users. In August, it completed interoperability testing with Yealink (News - Alert) IP phones. About a month later, the company released a free SIP phone for the Android (News - Alert) operating system. And, in October, 3CX joined forces with FaxBack (News - Alert) and Patton to deliver a suite of IP-centric communications solutions for enterprise networks.
