Adobe and SpringSource Enhance Integration Between Flash and SpringSource Platforms

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Adobe Systems Incorporated is teaming with SpringSource to simplify development and deployment of rich enterprise Java applications. This collaboration will provide integration between the Adobe Flash and SpringSource platforms. Java developers will be able to create enterprise-class rich Internet applications (RIAs) using Adobe Flex software more easily.

SpringSource will be introducing Spring BlazeDS Integration with support from Adobe. This is a new open source project which will provide better integration between Spring and BlazeDS, Adobe’s open source server-based Java remoting and Web messaging technology. In mid-December a beta version of the Spring BlazeDS Integration will be available from SpringSource.

SpringSource Adapter for Adobe LiveCycle Data Services ES is also under development. This will provide integration with Adobe LiveCycle Data Services ES. This will help create server push-based applications which are based on Adobe Flex for real-time and near-time solutions.

The Adobe Flash Platform allows enterprise application developers to design and develop Web applications which can run across operating systems and browsers. Web developers can make use of the interactive and Web experience capabilities so that developers can build business-critical applications for enhancing user productivity and acceptance for reducing service calls.

LiveCycle Data Services ES software is a real time remote and messaging framework which facilitates the development of RIAs using Adobe Flex software and the Adobe AIR runtime by simplifying creation of data intense server push-based applications.

Kumar Vora, vice president and general manager for LiveCycle at Adobe said, “Through this collaborative effort with SpringSource, we are bringing more efficiencies and workflow advantages to the Flex and LiveCycle developer communities. This opportunity opens up new doors for increasing the exchange of information between the platforms, which will provide a better overall user experience and allow more Spring developers to begin accessing the Adobe Flash Platform.”

Adobe and SpringSource offer better interoperability for SpringSource developers for optimizing the creation of rich Internet applications. The products of the two companies are better integrated. SpringSource has introduced two new products enabling faster transfer of Java applications to Adobe Flex, BlazeDS and LiveCycle, said Mitch Ferguson, vice president of business development at SpringSource.
Adobe’s technologies and software have redefined business, entertainment and personal communications by establishing new standards for producing and delivering content that can engage people anywhere in the world and at any time and via any medium.

SpringSource is the creator of Spring a standard platform for building, running and managing enterprise Java applications. SpringSource supports Apache Tomcat also. Its production ready, enterprise grade products are professional, tested and hardened for enterprise use. The company’s Application Platform is designed for complete portability and scalability suitable for data center and next generation virtualized, grid and cloud computing deployments.
