By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

TietoEnator and Nokia are launching next-generation mobility services aggressively focusing on improving return on investment delivery from enterprise system investments such as Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain Management and Enterprise Resource Management systems.

TietoEnator has used Nokia’s (News - Alert) Intellisync Mobile Suite and will now extend its capabilities to its customers. The company is using the Mobile Suite as a key component of this global service platform.

The new mobility services are a part of TietoEnator’s Digital Workplace management concept, which is a turn key solution targeted to all organizations and their employees.

Utilizing Intellisync technology, TietoEnator provides powerful business applications to its enterprise customers that extend beyond wireless email. The technology ensures the protection of all data stored on mobile devices and offers security with its device management solution.

“The flexibility that mobility brings to any employee is a huge productivity benefit for information-centric businesses such as banking, telecoms and healthcare,” said Pekka Viljakainen, senior vice president and head of Strategic Customer Operations at TietoEnator in a press release.

He continued: “Our co-operation in the R&D area, combined with the offerings from Nokia has turned this vision into reality.”

Nokia also announced collaboration with Orange to facilitate device customization and strengthen the role of S60 devices in Orange’s device portfolio.

The collaboration will create an Orange specific software package to complement S60 software on Symbian OS .The Orange device customization process is also expected to accelerate by this partnership.

Manufacturers of S60 device can now have greater cost efficiency and shorter time-to-market.

In addition to creating synergies between S60 and Orange roadmaps, joint activities will include testing Orange specific software assets and application development in cooperation with the Orange Partner organization and Forum Nokia, Nokia’s global developer program.
