AirClic and Telcel Mexico Collaborate for Complete Mobile Data Capture Solution

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

AirClic has inked an exclusive partnership with Telcel, a Mexican wireless communications carrier. Leveraging AirClic's mobile application, Telcel will provide the Mexican market with a complete mobile data capture packaged solution called ScanTelcel for inventory management, asset tracking, proof of delivery and time capture.

ScanTelcel will run on mobile phones on the Telcel wireless network, the largest in the country. Telcel owns approximately 75 percent market share in Mexico and has the largest GSM/GPRS/EDGE network in the country. Mexican companies across a variety of industries can use the ‘Mobilized by AirClic’ solution, to optimize their mobile processes by enabling field workers to accurately capture and transmit events and transactions in real time.

“Throughout Latin America, there has been an unaddressed need among growing organizations to manage and track their people and assets in motion,” Tim Bradley, CEO, AirClic, said in a statement.

Bradley added that ScanTelcel is the first solution made available to such a broad audience in Mexico and expressed his company’s pride to be working with Telcel to provide such a high value service offering to their business customers.

AirClic explains that ScanTelcel integrates the company’s mobile application with Motorola (News - Alert) V557 and V337 mobile devices as well as the Motorola AC25 integrated bar-code scanner. Both AirClic and Motorola will also provide support and services to customers deploying ScanTelcel.

With ScanTelcel, Telcel aims to provide a means for organizations to streamline operations to achieve a higher level of accountability and customer service, as well as accelerate the flow of information, people, and materials. According to Telcel, the new solution speaks to their goal to offer customers value-added services in addition to a broad wireless network reach. The Mexican wireless communications carrier is happy to be able to offer their customers with a solution that is so simple to deploy, and yet offers a wide range of capabilities.

AirClic further explains that the 'Mobilized by AirClic' partnership program spans multiple industries and markets including logistics/transportation, security, manufacturing, field services and construction, education and government. Leveraging this unique relationship, wireless and software partners will be able to extend critical business process applications to mobile workers generating additional partner or channel revenue opportunities.

Headquartered in Newtown, PA, AirClic is a provider of mobile business process solutions that offer organizations real-time visibility to the "who, what, where, when and why" of their entire field operations.
