By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

Gizmox, the developer of Visual WebGui platform announced that its Internet application platform will enable customers to build and deploy applications to Microsoft’s (News - Alert) cloud computing environment, “Windows Azure.”

Visual WebGui is a RIA development and deployment platform which offers desktop power to the Internet on the .NET (News - Alert) Framework. It allows users to build powerful, rich and fast UI’s utilizing the control and theme designers and the Grad & Drop visual form designer for deploying the Web or Cloud as AJAX or Microsoft Silverlight UIs.

The company proposes to demonstrate to customers and partners a very fast method to port line of business applications to the cloud, using its WebGui platform at the Worldwide PARTNER Conference, or WPC, in New Orleans.

Visual WebGui can be used to create native applications with Windows Azure which can run on the cloud for migrating on-premise LOB applications to the cloud without rewrite. This saves a lot in development and deployment costs, said the company.

Visual WebGui’s IP architecture allows users of on-premise LOB applications to use their development skills and user experience while porting UI’s to the cloud. Visual WebGui applications running on Windows Azure functions like other on-premise applications.

The VWG application UI is virtualized on Windows Azure and streamed to standard browsers and devices. Visual WebGui’s virtualization technology reduces cloud bandwidth and CPU usage by customers. This offers an optimum runtime environment for native Azure applications, clarified Gizmox.

Michael Maggs, Senior Director of Partner Strategy & Business Development for Microsoft Windows Azure said, “We see a tremendous value in working together with Gizmox on the Visual WebGui offering for Windows Azure customers. Enabling line of business applications for customers is a strategic direction for us, and is well aligned with the Windows Azure long-term strategy.”

“We are proud to bring Visual WebGui’s RIA development technology to cloud computing with the collaboration of Microsoft’s Windows Azure ,” stated Navot Peled, CEO and founder of Gizmox. “The ease and speed of developing with Visual WebGui, combined with our bullet-proof security and responsive UI, gives customers unparalleled advantages when creating native Windows Azure applications on the Visual WebGui platform.”

Gizmox explained that Microsoft Windows developers using Visual Basic and C++ can easily work with Visual WebGui for developing Web applications. Several thousand VWG applications have been built and are now in production in enterprises like SAP (News - Alert), IBM and Trysis among others.
