Mobile UC Strategies for the EnterpriseBy Marisa Torrieri, TMCnet Editor For those businesses invested in Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC), chances are dual-mode mobile smartphones are of interest. These smartphones work 100 percent wirelessly for both voice conversations and messaging over Wi-Fi or cellular platforms.
At Thursday’s “Mobile UC Strategies for the Enterprise” session at ITEXPO West, industry experts will spend nearly two hours discussing the services and products available that unleash the power of these dual-mode phones, and provide the technology necessary for seamless roaming between Wi-Fi and cellular networks.
Companies who want to get up to speed on UC technologies that can be integrated into the handset will benefit from this panel.
“This session should be attended by anyone representing an organization where enterprise UC is important to help lower IT telecommunications costs and increase employee base productivity,” panelist John Craig, director of enterprise unified communications with CounterPath (News - Alert) Corporation, told TMC CEO Rich Tehrani in a pre-show interview.
Craig – who will participate in the panel alongside Alec Saunders, CEO of Iotum; Vivek Khuller, president and CEO of DiVitas Networks (News - Alert); Jon R. Doyle, VP of business development for CounterPath Corporation as well as moderator David H. Yedwab, a partner with Market Strategy & Analytics Partners – possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to the topic of UC.
“Comprehensively, [CounterPath] enables applications that drive productivity … and reduce costs (via VoIP) within the enterprise,” Craig told Tehrani. “Attendees can easily justify the expense if they are investigating unified communications strategies for cost savings, and trying to understand how these technologies will eventually fit into business process integration.
