Stratus Telecom Announces Upgrades to ENTICE Application Suite at TMC ITEXPO West 2009

By Jessica Kostek, TMCnet Channel Editor

Stratus Telecommunications, LLC announced today at Technology Marketing Corporation’s ITEXPO West 2009 an upgrade to the billing and enterprise modules of its Emerging Network Telecommunication Infrastructure Control Environment, or “ENTICE” VoIP and converged services platform for wireline, wireless and broadband service providers.

According to company officials, these enhancements include a new billing module for prepaid/postpaid calling card applications based on a port of its previously standalone prepaid/postpaid calling card solution, plus new enterprise capabilities designed for carriers delivering hosted PBX (News - Alert) services.

“The ENTICE platform was designed from the ground up with the idea of ‘making convergence simple,' " said Nathan Franzmeier (News - Alert), president of Stratus Telecommunications. "To this end, it incorporates a modular design and consistent architecture which allows people to build and grow infrastructure with solutions like our session border controller, softswitch and tandem/international gateway products and then add applications from our portfolio like our residential or enterprise hosted VOIP solutions, prepaid or number portability to increase their margins. Our customers have found that our solutions are easy to deploy, maintain and grow because of our solutions fit together and because the customer is dealing with someone who understands and can service the whole solution."

Speaking to how the sENTICE application enhance companies’ billing modules, Franzmeier said Stratus has billing modules for wholesale, hosted residential VOIP, hosted PBX/enterprise VOIP and prepaid. Because they are designed to work together, our solution lets providers mix and match the modules that make sense for them to produce bills that fit their business and are easy to deploy, he said.

According to Franzmeier, ENTICE billing modules work with embedded database technology powered by Oracle (News - Alert) and a prebuilt ENTICE compatible application such as hosted residential or enterprise VOIP solutions, prepaid, number portability, conferencing, unified messaging etc., can be integrated into the company’s other solutions.

In addition, he said, all ENTICE solutions can be integrated into other business systems using the company’s SOAP interfaces and custom applications can be built using its APIs.

“Because of our architecture we can scale all applications from hundreds of calls to millions,” he said.

Officials say those who would benefit are industry innovators who are looking for a converged communications technology partner that delivers flexible solutions that work for them without fail.

“We have over 200 customers worldwide who service over 3 million retail VOIP users and control millions of wholesale ports using our ENTICE platform,” Franzmeier said.

Stratus Telecommunications, LLC is exhibiting at Booth 529 at TMC’s ITEXPO West 2009 conference that opens today at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
