Nokia Debuts 7205 Intrigue for Verizon Wireless

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Nokia has unveiled the new Nokia (News - Alert) 7205 Intrigue, a handset with black exterior, hidden-until-lit external display, internal color keypad and support for multimedia and music features.

Nokia deals in mobility and claims to drive the transformation and growth of the converging Internet and communications industries. Verizon (News - Alert) Wireless operates wireless voice and data network.

The Nokia 7205 Intrigue for Verizon Wireless will be available to customers via Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and through the company's online store.

According to the company, the multifunctional device is packed with new multimedia and music features. When an incoming call or text is received the external display lights up, so users can see the message, and even play music or control the alarm clock without opening the device.

The new device features 1xEVDO Rev A connectivity, QVGA internal display, microSDHC expansion slot, access to VCAST services, Visual Voicemail, media player, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, speakerphone and 2.0 mega pixel camera with video recorder.

A new nature inspired design setting called the Habitat mode has been included into the large bright display of the 7205 Intrigue. This was specially designed by Nokia for Verizon Wireless. This new mode provides handset users a sleek way to arrange contacts in an easy to reach manner and acts as a custom theme. The contacts are displayed chronologically, where the users who’ve contacted most recently are at the top.

The phone also comes with features including V CAST Music with Rhapsody and Visual Voice Mail. V CAST music has 5 million songs available to listen to over the air or to download to PC. The device supports 8 GB of storage and allows music to be synced between phone and PC. Visual Voice Mail helps customers to prioritize their messages.

The device also has features to promote its eco-friendliness. In the box which is made from 100 percent recyclable materials users will find a low no-load charger, which will help save on energy use and the phone alerts the user when it’s fully charged.

According to the company, the high-end model is available for $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. Customers will receive the rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted. The V CAST Music with Rhapsody service is available for $14.99 monthly access and Visual Voice Mail is available for $2.99 monthly access, per line, plus airtime or megabyte charges and messaging fees, depending on a customer's plan.
