Redline, Alianza Team to Grow Voice Offerings for WiMAX Service Providers

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Alianza (News - Alert), a provider of hosted voice-over-WiMAX solutions, and Redline Communications Group, a provider of WiMAX and broadband wireless infrastructure products, have validated interoperability of products and services to accelerate voice offerings for service providers.

Alianza’s hosted voice platform was tested with Redline’s WiMAX (News - Alert) Forum Certified RedMAX systems as part of the Redline Ecosystem Verification (REV) program. According to companies’ sources, the REV program verifies connectivity and performance between Redline's RedMAX and RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX products and other WiMAX devices. This verification enables carriers to accelerate the deployment of interoperable networks.

Redline Ecosystem Verification (REV) program also includes Redline's RedCONNEX and RedACCESS families, which support high-bandwidth voice, video and data services.

Specifically designed for WiMAX service providers, Alianza’s fully integrated hosted voice platform offers service providers a fast, simple and economical way to provide advanced telephony services to their residential or business customers. This robust, multi-functional and highly scalable solution allows WiMAX service providers to focus on generating revenue instead of managing the expense and operational details of building a voice solution.

Brian Beutler, Alianza's CEO, said the company looks forward to working closely with Redline to expand globally and provide superior quality voice services with simple, plug and play implementation.

Kevin Suitor (News - Alert), vice president of marketing and business development at Redline explained that service providers deploying full-service WiMAX networks can leverage Alianza’s easy to install voice platform to add voice services to their networks at lower costs than what’s currently offered by proprietary vendors.

Suitor noted that high quality voice services based on open standards are an important element in the roll-out of successful Mobile WiMAX networks and believes the combination of Redline’s WiMAX technology and deployment expertise and Alianza’s voice-over WiMAX platform will benefit the operators’ business model.
