Quintum's VoIP MultiPath Switches Work with Brekeke's IP-PBX Solution

By Niladri Sekhar Nath, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Quintum Technologies, a developer of VoIP technologies and a subsidiary of Network Equipment Technologies (News - Alert), has performed interoperability testing of its Tenor VoIP MultiPath switches and gateways with Brekeke Software’s IP-PBX, a business IP phone system. Brekeke (News - Alert) Software is a developer of SIP communication technologies

Brekeke PBX (News - Alert) is a SIP-based IP-PBX system that provides reliable and scalable IP communications for enterprises and service providers. The system provides all essential IP-PBX features that enterprise users require, including voicemail to e-mail, "confirm call," and number portability.

The latest edition of Brekeke PBX, Multi-Tenant Edition, provides a simple and flexible yet easy to deploy solution for service providers that want to offer hosted IP-PBX services. Brekeke PBX supports both Windows and Linux platforms.

"Now, having Quintum and Brekeke as two key components of our portfolio for distribution to our resellers and customers, we have a 'perfect fit' combination for the channels to sell to their customers," said Ernesto Casas, general manager for Binnacle Technologies, a value added distributor dedicated to VoIP in Latin America.

With the combination of Quintum and Brekeke, organizations will be able to deploy advanced communications for all their employees regardless of where they are located and integrate their remote branch offices.

"With Quintum's survivability feature, our users can now have continuous IP communication even when network disruptions occur," said Shin Yamade, CEO of Brekeke Software. "Our products are already known for their reliability and quality, but with support from network devices like Quintum's, we are able to offer the high availability our customers demand. With Quintum's Tenor, the combined solution gives users an unmatched, reliable IP communications platform.”

Tenor VoIP switches and gateways offer a Unified Communications (News - Alert) Proxy (UCP), which allows multiple VoIP and TDM networks to be easily integrated together. The UCP expands Tenor's MultiPath switching capability to include enhanced "Any to Any" MultiPath call routing, including TDM to TDM calls, TDM to SIP calls and SIP-to-SIP calls. The Quintum Tenor line features a range of sizes and configurations to offer the perfect fit for any business VoIP infrastructure requirement.

"Tenors address the more complicated and diverse needs of customers deploying new VoIP networks into existing legacy networks," said Chuck Rutledge (News - Alert), vice president of marketing for Quintum. "Partners such as Brekeke offer innovative VoIP products that when teamed with Tenors, offer productivity enhancements for the business, while assuring reliability and allowing customers to efficiently leverage the existing infrastructure in a cost effective manner."
