Interoperability tests were reportedly preformed with Arasan's hardware development kit and software drivers, ensuring a "Total IP Solution
Kevin Yee, vice president of Marketing at Arasan noted that proving hardware interoperability is key to ensuring that products will function correctly in the real world.
He believes that by completing the UNH-IOL testing of Arasan's Gigabit Ethernet Solution, designers can be assured that their Ethernet solution will work correctly with the highest quality product and solution in their system.
The company explains that the Arasan 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Solution provides all the components required for development - IP core, Verification IP, software drivers and hardware development platform. The IP core boasts RMM compliant synthesizable RTL for Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC
) Core with GMII interface, easy-to-use test environment and synthesis scripts. In addition, the core supports RGMII and SGMII.
The enhanced programmable features provided by IP core minimize application complexity and pre/post message processing. The IP core can be easily integrated into any design project and customized for a native interface or bridging function. Moreover a Verification IP for Ethernet is also available for accelerating verification and testing of system. Software drivers that are readily available in Linux can also be ported to a wide range of OS platforms.
Earlier this year, Arasan Chip Systems, Inc., announced the addition of a Gigabit Ethernet Verification IP (VIP) as well as availability of device drivers for 10/100 Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet applications. The addition enables the designers to access a high quality, high performance Ethernet VIP to verify their Ethernet designs as well as a head start to software co-development, ensuring design success.
