Fonality PBXtra Users Surpass 50 Million Calls Mark
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Fonality ( News - Alert), an open source, Asterisk-based IP telephony systems provider, has announced that PBXtra customers have placed more than 50 million calls and are now averaging more than 1.5 million calls per week across its IP-PBX platform.
Fonality is positioning this rapid increase in call volume as further demonstration of the company’s success in the middle market and customer demand for high quality, value priced, reliable and fully supported IP telephony solutions.
According to Chris Lyman, Fonality’s founder and CEO, the open source roots of the company’s PBXtra enables Fonality to offer businesses the one-two punch of enterprise-class features and value pricing. It’s no surprise to Lyman that the company is growing fast and so many organizations are relying on PBXtra to provide them with the rock solid phone system they need to run their business.
PBXtra is Fonality’s enterprise-class IP-PBX ( News - Alert), based on a modified version of the popular open source Asterisk code base. With some modifications, Fonality has made this Asterisk solution more reliable, stable and enhanced its enterprise-class features. PBXtra is positioned as being less expensive and easier to deploy than all other major PBX offerings currently on the market.
PBXtra’s price advantage is a result of Fonality’s use of Asterisk ( News - Alert)-based open source technology to deliver the PBX foundation. The platform also offers advanced, enterprise-class features and management ease as a result of Fonality’s innovative PBXtra applications with its intuitive, Web-based interface designed for the average business owner.
Reliability is delivered to customers through PBXtra’s hybrid model that combines public telephone and VoIP network support with Fonality’s experienced 24 x 7 technical support team. This reliable and scalable solution is available directly from Fonality or through a Fonality reseller.
PBXtra utilizes Fonality’s patent pending architecture in order to deliver all the advanced features of an enterprise-class phone system and call center at 40 to 80 percent less than traditional offerings. The solution is deployed to more than 18,000 business users in the US and other countries.
Fonality is answering a demand from smaller and mid-sized organizations for better communications platforms that will fit into their tighter budgets. These companies are looking for reliability in a solution that can be scaled to fit their needs as they grow, but that also delivers the high level quality that they demand. By addressing this segment of the industry, Fonality is targeting an ever-growing sector. As such, the company is ensuring its own success and market dominance in the long run.
