CRM from Microsoft Wins Silver Cup Coffee's Taste TestBy David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor NexTec Group announced that Silver Cup Coffee, a boutique coffee roaster headquartered in the Seattle area has selected Microsoft (News - Alert) Dynamics GP as its new business management product and NexTec Group's Seattle office to implement the product.
Silver Cup Coffee has been using Everest, an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system that does not support its manufacturing or point-of-sale operations.
"We sought a single-source product," said Scott Martin, director of operations and information technology for Silver Cup Coffee. "We wanted one software system for accounting, manufacturing, point-of-sale, and distribution functions. It's difficult to find a single software system that broad."
As a food product manufacturer, Silver Cup Coffee must comply with governmental regulations including the Bioterrorism Act of 2002. Microsoft Dynamics GP is expected to help the company meet its compliance requirements with lot tracking capabilities and chain-of-custody support.
Founded in 1995, Silver Cup Coffee won seven awards at the McCormick & Schmick's coffee competition, including Best Cup (Overall Winner).
In March NexTec Group announced the release of a Royalty/Rebate Tracking Module for Sage MAS 500 ERP. NexTec Group, a Sage Software (News - Alert) Business Partner and Developer, specializes in business management products to small and mid-sized enterprises.
The Royalty/Rebate Tracking Module lets users automate royalties, rebates, field development, slotting fees, customer refunds, or any other paid fee based on Sage MAS 500 orders. The idea is to create an automated payable transaction to the vendor. Sage MAS 500 customers can set up relationships between items, vendors, and customers from one maintenance screen. Royalty/Rebate Tracking Module eliminates the need for 'offline' spreadsheets to calculate what is owed to vendors and saves significant time at period end.
Andy Nunez, general manager of NexTec Group, said the new module "allows Sage MAS 500 customers to track and pay royalties, rebates, slotting fees, and any other commissions that are tracked and paid over time." He added that the module will also be bundled into Escape Velocity's O2 Process Manufacturing Suite for Sage MAS 500."
NexTec Group sells ERP, CRM and other products to small, mid-market and mid-enterprise companies.
