Free Webinar: Voice Biometrics as a Safeguard Against Identity Theft
By Michael Dinan, TMCnet Editor
To help businesses develop effective voiceprint solutions that will ease customers’ fears about identity theft, a panel of voice security experts next week is holding a free Webinar.
Register here for “The Next Frontier in Customer Identity Protection: Voice Biometrics,” sponsored in part by Intervoice ( News - Alert) Inc., a Dallas-based company whose software and services are designed to enable innovative voice portal, IP contact center, hosted and mobile messaging and self-service applications.
Experts say that identify theft is a growing threat, and that more than 8 million U.S. adults suffered identity fraud last year.
“With telephone-based service still being the preferred channel for customer care, call centers and IVR systems are particularly vulnerable as traditional methods of confirming the identity of callers are insecure,” experts say.
During the Webinar, officials from Intervoice, IBM ( News - Alert) and TMCnet will discuss how to assess call center and IVR systems, what risks are involved and what security solutions may work. The talk, which will feature a question-and-answer session, also will delve on how to comply with federal privacy regulations while reducing a customer’s fear of fraud or information misuse.
Presenters will include Steven Cawn of WebSphere Sales at IBM and Ron Settele, a senior member of Intervoice’s enterprise product marketing team. The Webinar will be moderated by Tim Gray, a seasoned Technology Marketing Corporation Web editor whose areas of expertise include IP communications, call center and customer relationship management industries.
