Panasonic Enhances Communications Assistant Productivity Software Suite

Panasonic System Networks Company of America, a comprehensive business-to-business solutions provider, released the Panasonic Communications Assistant (CA (News - Alert)) 3.0 that is enhanced to empower businesses to stay in touch while on the go and enhance productivity of remote and mobile employees.




The Panasonic Communication Assistant productivity software suite is a highly intuitive unified communications solution that blends easy point and click telephony together with presence, availability, Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook integration, visual voice messaging and a variety of collaboration tools to simplify and enhance real-time communications for business telephony users, said the company.

The software suite provides a number of features including: enhanced voice messaging (VMA); instant messaging and presence capabilities; Microsoft Outlook, CRM (TAPI) and third party database (LDAP) contact integration; thin client support and softphone.

The system also supports two types of deployments: computer telephony integration (CTI (News - Alert)) without a server for small-to-medium-sized businesses and CTI server-based systems that can support up to four separate locations.

The version 3.0 features “drag and drop” on-screen icons that can be used to visually manage teleconference locations. Other notable features include remote location call monitoring, busy signal override and detailed status reporting.

Officials with Panasonic (News - Alert) asserted that more businesses have been moving away from the traditional static desktop workplace in favor of a more mobile one, noting that in this new dynamic work environment, it's essential for people to be able to easily manage their communications anytime, anywhere, which includes from their computers. Panasonic's Communication Assistant is designed to offer businesses another way to stay in touch with and manage interactions with colleagues, customers, and suppliers – wherever they may be.

The CA productivity suite is based on CTI technology where end-user point and click PC based operations are communicated over company IP network to the communication platforms. It removes communication obstacles, improves productivity and significantly delivers on a strong ROI and supports the Panasonic KX-NCP and KX-TDE business telephone systems.
