Reliance Communications Demonstrates 3G Services in Rajasthan

Reliance Communications, one of India’s telecom service provider, demonstrated its capabilities for 3G Services in Jaipur, the state capital of India's northwestern state of Rajasthan.

Recently, Reliance communications had recently launched 3G services in Delhi, Mumbai,  Kolkata, and Chandigarh. Demonstrating its all round execution and innovation capabilities, Reliance Communications has rolled out 3G services in a record time of around 100 days of receiving 3G Spectrum (News - Alert) in the major Metros of India, claimed company officials.

 “Demonstration of 3G capabilities at Jaipur, is an integral part of our vision of 2015 of creating a “Wirefree India” built upon the ‘affordable 3G for All’ platform. Personalization of Services, Simplification of Tariffs and a  Content Rich Portfolio on the ‘Best in Class’ 3G Wireless Network will enable Reliance customers to get a much superior 3G service experience, significantly differentiated from others in the marketplace”, said Vinay Chandhok, Hub Head- Gujarat & Rajasthan, Reliance Communications (News - Alert) while addressing a press conference here.  

“Reliance 3G places us in a unique position with our suite of  offerings, covering 3G, CDMA, GSM and Mobile Broadband Data Services on the wireless platform,” said Chandok.

He said that including Jaipur, 11 other towns of Rajasthan will experience the 3G speed within a span of one month.

The subscribers, Chandok said would be able to enjoy 3G services in Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Ganganagar, Bhiwadi, Pilani, Pali, Bhilwara and Alwar. 

As per the published figures provided by the company, Reliance Communications has a subscriber base of around 6.5 millions in Rajasthan as on November 30, 2010.

Chandok said that Reliance 3G network has been designed to offer blanket coverage in every town being connected, with all its 3G sites connected through IP backhaul to provide maximum download speeds and minimum latency. The world class Reliance 3G network is capable of offering a peak speed of up to 21 Mbps.

  “Reliance 3G services will offer the widest bouquet of cutting edge services including Video Calling, Mobile TV, Video Streaming and Applications accessed at superfast speeds ubiquitously on a variety of Mobile and Personal computing devices”, said Prashant Gokarn, 3G Head – Reliance Communications.

 Earlier in May 2010, Reliance Communications emerged as the winner in 13 key telecom circles during the 3G auction including the key metros of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.  Reliance Communications holds 3G licenses in the telecom circles of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, North East, Jammu & Kashmir, Orissa and Assam.

TMCnet in December reported that Reliance Communications unveiled its plan to launch the new mobile data portal, R World, powered by Motricity, a provider of mobile data solutions.

This portal developed for the 3G service is aimed at delivering complete, end-to-end mobile Internet and data services to 120 million Reliance Mobile subscribers at the click of a button.
