Tandberg CEO Makes Green Vow
By Stefania Viscusi, TMCnet Assistant Editor
While new initiatives to go green are sprouting up in places all over the world, Tandberg ( News - Alert) CEO, Fredrik Halvorsen has taken on a specific obligation to reduce his and other companies ecological footprint.
The Tandberg CEO, a proponent for the need to change ones business in order to see positive changes to the environment, is stepping up to plate with a detailed manifesto that ensures his business and other businesses are doing their best to be green.
Taking an especially important interest in global warming and the very stark reality of weather changes as solid proof of the damaging effects we've had on our environment, Halvorsen is pledging to provide "workable environmental solutions for business."
Not just for Tandberg's own business and employees, where Halvorsen is pledging to reduce Co2 emissions, but also for Tandberg's business customers who will now be provided with products that support the environment and help them to continue meeting their goals.
Halvorsen also points out in his manifesto that Tandberg's commitment to businesses is to provide conferencing solutions that promote a reduced need to travel and telecommuting. "Staying off the roads and out of the skies means adding less CO2 to the atmosphere," he notes.
Tandberg has successfully offered video conferencing solutions that provide businesses with the ability to save on costs and increase productivity in their workforce.
And while conferencing solutions main goals were once to provide business productivity, they have now also become a key environmental solution.
