Xsigo Systems and EMC Corporation Announce Reseller Agreement

Xsigo Systems, Inc. and EMC Corporation, a major player in information infrastructure solutions, have announced a reseller agreement enabling Xsigo to offer “EMC (News - Alert) Data Protection Advisor” analysis and reporting software to the enterprise data center market.

 

Xsigo officials said that the combination of Xsigo virtual I/O and EMC Data Protection Advisor will provide data center managers with a comprehensive solution to monitor data backup processes and to respond quickly when issues arise.

 

Officials felt that through the deployment of the combined solution, organizations would be able to identify issues before they escalate and resolve them in seconds, rather than hours or days, to ensure that backup processes are completed reliably and on time.

 

"EMC's world-class information management and storage expertise, combined with Xsigo's I/O virtualization products, provides a robust solution that helps organizations accelerate and remove risk from their data protection processes," said Alan Atkinson, vice president of product management at EMC, in a statement.

 

“We look forward to working together to ensure that the mutual customers have access to timely information and comprehensive management tools," said Atkinson.

 

EMC officials said that the company’s Data Protection Advisor software enables backup reporting, alerting, monitoring, and analysis of heterogeneous, physical and virtual infrastructures, helping IT managers make quick, informed decisions, resolve problems faster, and meet service level agreements.

 

Erik Hardy, vice president of worldwide sales at Xsigo said that the synergy between EMC and Xsigo I/O virtualization offers significant value to enterprise IT managers as they strive to increase their data protection capabilities.

 

Hardy said that this integrated solution provides organizations with the ability to monitor critical processes and to provide faster and more effective problem resolution.
