International Telecoms Trade Publication Acknowledges Tata Communication's Strategic Approach

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

Tata Communications, a provider of new world of communications, claimed that they have won the Best Global Wholesale Offering Award at Capacity Awards 2010 for the second year in a row. The company received the award in a ceremony held at Capacity Europe in Amsterdam.

Capacity magazine’s Global Wholesale Telecommunications Awards recognizes market players, who through applying effective techniques and strategies to their wholesale businesses, have established themselves at the forefront of the wholesale telecoms industry.

Tata communications claimed that the prestigious award from an internationally renowned telecoms trade publication is a validation of its comprehensive approach towards its global wholesale offering. The company claimed that it continually focused on solutions that enable it to differentiate and innovate to address today’s customer challenges beyond just cost. The award is recognition of its commitment to delivering services that provide better quality, performance, reach and pricing for its customers.

Tata Communications’ (News - Alert) wholesale capabilities are anchored by its network of submarine and terrestrial cables, encompassing a Tier-1 IP backbone spanning over 300 PoPs and reaching more than 240 countries. The company owns a cable network that is over 200,000 km and employs staff in over forty countries spreading across three continents.

The company recently launched IPX (IP Exchange) that can be used by mobile operators to migrate to IP and realize better control over their customer experience with the right end-to-end QOS. The new solution also enables customers to bring down their OPEX (News - Alert) and CAPEX needs via the scalability and the lower costs offered by an IP platform.

Tata also added portability-corrected routing to 12 of the largest and most popular destinations, with plans to expand to 24 countries and claimed that it is the industry leader in the rollout of IPv6, having enabled dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 nodes on all of its global IP PoPs.
