Zultys Adds Video Webcasting to MXmeeting

By Brendan B. Read, Senior Contributing Editor

Seeing is believing. And with budgets tight, helping colleagues and customers to see presentations can save major dollars in travel costs all around, not to mention reducing firms’ environmental footprints.

Zultys has enhanced its MXmeeting conferencing solution with video capabilities and features that heighten the experience of users and make the tool more useful. Its new MXmeeting 4.1 adds to the product Webcam video broadcast, plus remote printing, flash-based view-only client for improved meeting speed, an improved file transfer for remote support and remote access, and increased moderator control of attendee access and termination.

MXmeeting now blends together video, voice, desktop web interaction, instant messaging, virtual meeting rooms, online presentations, file sharing, training and demonstration tools. Here are some more specifics:

*          Webcam broadcast: uses webcams as the presenters to broadcast video to viewers
*          Web conferencing: sales presentations, product demos, interactive collaboration
*          Web seminar: seminars for view-only attendees with no client or agent to install
*          Remote access/support: remotely access PCs from anywhere and control anyone’s PC by e-mailing them URLs without the worry of firewalls or static IP addresses
*          Remote print: issue a print command to instruct a local document to be printed at 1 or all of the participants remotely
*          File upload: directly distribute files to conference attendees
*          Windows 7 support and substantially improved Macintosh client support (OSX 10.6)

MXmeeting interactions (voice, video and Webinar) can be captured for future playback and sharing, and are a natural extension to Zultys’ (News - Alert) existing call recording offering. With this functionality the Webinar can be sent out, complete with voice and video.

Zultys provides a U.S.-based hosted audio conference service with support for up to 150 ports. This audio conference service is provided through a 3rd party at no additional charge to those purchasing MXmeeting.

Zultys MXmeeting can be easily implemented by simply adding an appliance to an existing MX250 or MX30 deployment. The solution is scalable; it starts with as few as two meeting rooms with ten concurrent users (the M200), and grows to as many as 20 meeting rooms with 100 concurrent users (the M500). It may also be deployed standalone for companies looking to add web conferencing to an existing phone system.

MXmeeting naturally integrates with Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook and Microsoft Exchange for scheduling and communication. It is integrated with MXIE, Zultys’ unified communications client.

“MXmeeting continues to lead the market with features that were previously only on large, expensive hosted systems,” said Steve Morrison (News - Alert), VP of product management. “The rapid ROI, coupled with the functionality of MXmeeting’s collaboration tools, are the drivers for an easy purchase decision. MXmeeting supports a collaboration experience that is as natural as using your laptop while rich enough to unite voice, data and video.”
