Qwest Inks an Agreement with PS America to Deliver Integrated Voice and Data Solution

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Qwest (News - Alert) Communications has announced an exclusive $1 million agreement with Longwood, Fla.-based PS America, a wholesale flooring company.

Terms of the agreement calls on Qwest to deliver an integrated voice and data solution using Qwest iQ Networking, toll-free and long-distance services. Qwest iQ Networking is a wide area network (WAN) solution based on multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) technology.

PS America is the owner of ProSource Wholesale Floor coverings franchises and operates more than 44 showrooms across the country. Using Qwest iQ Networking services, Qwest has connected 46 locations. These locations include company’s showrooms and corporate offices. In addition, Qwest is also providing PS America with long-distance and toll-free service.

Company official said that this expanded portfolio of Qwest solutions gives PS America end-to-end connectivity among multiple locations from a single provider through a scalable platform.

Customized for PS America, the portfolio delivers speeds up to 45 megabits per second to its corporate offices and 1.5 Mpbs to the showrooms. This will allow the company to transfer and replicate large amounts of data and complete customer transactions over a secure network.

Bob Hilton, vice president of information technology at PS America, said in a statement that his company has been a customer for more than eight years because “there’s simply no other team that is as professional – or as dedicated to making things happen – as Qwest.”

He also said that Qwest’s solutions have always enabled his company’s network to evolve with our business needs.

“Qwest is successful at growing relationships with existing customers like PS America because we take the time to understand their goals and strive to deliver a world-class customer experience made exceptional through technology,” said Teresa Taylor, executive vice president for business markets group at Qwest.

Qwest is a provider of national fiber-optic network and Spirit of Service to help customers meet their communications and entertainment needs. For residential customers, Qwest’s offers a combination of high-speed Internet, home and wireless voice solutions and digital TV includes a new generation of fiber-optic Internet services.

Last week, Qwest announced a five-year, $7.2 million contract with Albuquerque Public Schools for a high-speed network that will deliver learning opportunities to students in New Mexico’s largest school district.
