Microsoft Launches UC Solution in Qatar

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Microsoft is launching its next generation of unified communications solution in Qatar. The company is organizing an exclusive event in partnership with Jabra (News - Alert) and Polycom in Doha on Feb. 7, to launch Microsoft Lync.

It is expected that this event will give businesses in Qatar an opportunity to learn more about how Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync can meet their needs for real-time collaboration.

Attendees will learn more about an integrated solution that enables users to communicate from anywhere in a cost-effective and secure manner.

Elaborating more on the solution, Microsoft notes that Lync integrates instant messaging, presence, audio, video, Web conferencing and voice to bring people together in the ways they communicate best.

Lync features one interface that works with the applications familiar to businesses such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Exchange from their desktop or from handsets.

"Microsoft Lync connects users in new ways, regardless of their physical location providing a fresh, intuitive user experience that is directly accessible from Microsoft Office applications to deliver the best productivity experience," said Mohammad Hammoudi, country manager, Microsoft QatarMicrosoft Qatar located at Qatar Science and Technology Park. "The event will be a great opportunity for both SME & enterprise customers to gain deep insights into how the unified nature of the system helps reduce costs and facilitates rapid user adoption. Moreover because Lync is broadly interoperable, it also fits into existing IT infrastructure for easier deployment and migration."

"We are very pleased to be partnering with Microsoft at this event," said Joel Hamon, president EMEA & CALA, Jabra. "Our award-winning corded and wireless headset solutions integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Lync providing a reliable, easy to use and cost effective user experience across multiple devices and platforms. As a world leader in innovative headset solutions, we are committed to providing customers with the best products to improve worker productivity and provide enhanced ergonomic comfort in a unified communications environment.
