M2M Evolution Conference to Identify Emerging Market Opportunities

A number of new sessions will be added to the M2M Evolution Conference at ITEXPO East in the Miami Beach Convention Center on Feb. 2 to 4, according to TMC.

More than 60 million devices are currently connected to networks around the globe. Industry analysts are predicting 30-50 percent year-on-year growth in the number of M2M devices, forecasting connectivity of more than 2 billion devices by the year 2020.

With this kind of increase, M2M will be the fastest-growing sector in the telecom industry. The forthcoming M2M Evolution Conference identifies emerging opportunities in this fastest growing market.

Keynote presentations will be by Sprint’s Todd Rowley, Apriva’s Jeff Ford and Numerex’s (News - Alert) Jeff Smith.

Wireless robotics is another interesting section included in the conference. Ron Johnson, CEO of Robot Row, and Steve Barker, Evangelist for Lego Mindstorm, will discuss wireless Robotics and cover prototyping techniques using Lego’s Mindstorm products.

Attendees at this session will have the opportunity to win a Lego Mindstorm Robot that can hear, see, touch and feel. While T-Mobile’s (News - Alert) Shelby Nokes will discuss the company’s M2M strategy and the expansion of T-Mobile’s M2M vertical markets, C.H. Robinson Worldwide’s Chris McLoughlin will describe how the ground, ocean, and air logistics provider is leveraging M2M technology for security, and to control costs.

The CDMA Development Group and the CDG Smart Wireless Special Interest Group (M2M SIG) held the Smart Wireless Workshop during the 4G Wireless Evolution (4GWE) and M2M Evolution Conference, collocated events with ITEXPO West 2010, at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles.
