Gartner Recognizes Digium for Role in Telecom Industry

Digium, a provider of open source and open source-based products, has been positioned in the Visionaries quadrant of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Corporate Telephony report.

The Magic Quadrant depicts Gartner's (News - Alert) analysis of how vendors measure against criteria for that marketplace, as defined by Gartner.

The company said that being recognized by one of the world’s most well-respected research firms is further proof of its role in the telecommunications industry, according to a press release.

Danny Windham, chief executive officer of Digium (News - Alert), said that a key theme from the 2010 Magic Quadrant for Corporate Telephony is the interest in and adoption of unified communications.

Digium offers the type of open standards and flexibility that make UC a reality for SMBs and enterprises, according to the release. Windham said that they are pleased that Gartner has positioned Digium in the Visionaries quadrant.

Digium has been steadily growing for the last 10 years and provides a range of phone systems and custom telephony solutions for small, medium and large businesses.
