In response to feedback from users, hosted IP

communications provider Intelliverse (
News -
Alert) has reportedly improved the user interface on its softphone application. The softphone works with the company’s callEverywhere hosted VoIP

service.
Now, users have the ability to launch calls by clicking on contacts in an address book or a recent call list. In addition, the interface sports a new tabbed call area for identifying two callers. This lets the user put a call on the first line on hold before answering the second line. These new features will make the softphone simpler to use.
"We redesigned the Softphone to provide our customers with a more customized application to reduce the time spent having to relearn the most basic functions of the phone," said Kevin M. Moran (
News -
Alert), president and CEO of Intelliverse, in a press release. "These new enhancements are another way Intelliverse ensures our customers have features that are easily used without taking away from the overall quality and performance."
Intelliverse offers its hosted VoIP

service on a private label basis. Carriers which wish to resell the service can also resell the softphone application and have the softphone skin branded either with their own logo or that of their partner(s).
Intelliverse made news on TMCnet in October when it introduced its first standalone Unified Communications (
News -
Alert) (UC) solution, callEverywhere - ONEcall. The new service provides a fully customizable solution for users who may or may not be prepared to fully migrate from their traditional phone systems over to VoIP. The solution offers features commonly found in the enterprise communications space.
The company also made news in November when it announced that it was using NeuStar (
