(Wireless News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
Ericsson will illustrate at NXTcomm how its recent acquisitions --
Redback, Entrisphere, Tandberg Television -- have bolstered the
company's position in North America and enhanced its ability to create
full-service broadband networks delivering IP-based multimedia services
anytime, anywhere to any device.

The show takes place from June 19-21 in Chicago, McCormick Place.
Ericsson will also hold a briefing with President and CEO Carl-Henric
Svanberg and Angel Ruiz, head of Ericsson North America as well as
Kevin DeNuccio, head of Redback and Eric Cooney, head of Tandberg
Television, for media, industry and financial analysts on Tuesday, June
19, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Registration and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m.

Briefing topics for discussion include:

-- A broader portfolio than ever before - True end-to- end solutions
Ericsson's technology leadership, consumer understanding and
acquisitions of Marconi, Redback, Entrisphere and Tandberg Television
create complete, integrated networking solutions for wireless, wireline
and converged operators

-- A strengthened North American position. The recent acquisitions are
a validation of Ericsson's strong commitment to the North American
market

-- Full Service Broadband - broadband access from any device or screen,
anywhere, anytime. In the office, in the home, on the move - Ericsson
ensures consumers get access to the services they want on the device of
their choice

-- The evolving TV experience Ericsson has a comprehensive IPTV and
mobile TV offering, enhanced by Tandberg Television, and a strong
vision for the future of TV.

In a release, Ericsson provided descriptions of its booth
demonstrations:

IPTV

Ericsson has an end-to-end Internet Protocol Television offering
available now to help operators and service providers deliver the
latest multimedia service to their customers. Ericsson's IPTV solutions
run the gamut, whether delivered to a mobile phone, computer or through
a set-top box to a traditional television.

Mobile TV

Mobile TV is being commercially launched worldwide today. The cellular
network offers a fast track to the TV audiences as existing 2.5G/3G
terminals, networks and spectrum can be utilized to provide Mobile TV
services. Ericsson's end-to-end solution includes everything that is
needed to provide Mobile TV, including network features, service layer
enablers, professional services and mobile phone clients. As usage of
mobile TV services increases, the cellular network can be upgraded with
additional capacity, such as HSPA, and with MBMS broadcasting to meet
mass market demand. In this way, unicast and broadcast technologies
will co-exist, enabling a complete Mobile TV service and user
experiences beyond traditional TV.

HSPA to the Screen of Your Choice (from Handsets to Laptops)

HSPA continues to gain market share and momentum with more than 100
commercial launches. Ericsson will show the power of true broadband
with HSPA in the downlink and uplink. This demonstration will use PC
cards from different manufacturers, Ericsson Mobile Broadband HSPA
Embedded Modules for laptop computers and the latest Ericsson
Fixed-Wireless Terminals, showing the strong usage potential of HSPA
for mobile and wireless broadband services. The HSPA devices support up
to 7.2Mbps in the downlink and up to 3.6Mbps on the uplink. Ericsson
offers HSPA support on many frequency bands ranging from 850 MHz to 2.6
GHz.

Deep Fiber Access through GPON/VDSL2

Deep fiber access to the home and to the neighborhood using GPON and
VDSL2 technologies will be demonstrated using parallel HDTV (High
Definition TV) channels.

Converged Multimedia Services (CMSI)

Ericsson's vision of enabling multiple applications over multiple
access points is taking another step forward with the Company's
demonstration of a commercially available IMS Common System with common
service enablers. It reflects Ericsson's commercial IMS applications
and shows seamless communication for voice, video, "Push to Talk" and
chat. The demo will focus on the laptop and handheld device to show how
converged services can be delivered to any screen. IPTV features will
be included on the starter demonstration in the same area. Summit Tech,
a gaming third party application developer in concert with Electronic
Arts, will be integrated into the demo.

IMS Multimedia Telephony

IMS Multimedia Telephony (IMT) allows network operators and service
providers to implement new revenue-generating multimedia services. For
the enterprise user the operator can offer Multimedia telephony,
presence and instant messaging. Based on IMS, it enables operators to
evolve their current fixed or mobile telephony offering for both
residential and enterprise customers with services like presence,
messaging and IP Centrex including mobile extensions.

Residential Base Stations: Femto Cell Solutions (2G + 3G)

A GSM or HSPA Femto Access Point is a residential Base Station using IP
over Ethernet. It is a low output power Base Transceiver Station that
suits uncomplicated installation in the home.
