Interop presented an exciting opportunity for those in the technology and telecommunications space as it brought multiple players together in one location to provide informative presentation on new offerings, next-generation technologies and opportunities for the coming year. TMCnet took advantage of the opportunity to speak with a number of key industry players at Interop this year, including Amir Zmora, VP of Marketing with Radvision (News - Alert). Zmora visited the TMCnet media booth for an interview captured on video.
At Interop this year, Radvision demonstrated the launch of a 1080p fully-featured video room-system product. This product is applicable both on enterprise level and also vendor level, as well as consumer electronic manufacturers looking at client frameworks to develop next generation solutions.
When asked about strong growth in this area, Zmora highlighted there have been a lot of changes that happened in 2009 and 2010 that will bring video to every desktop, integrated with Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) capabilities so video is the next thing that is really becoming very big and very strong.
Zmora noted he has seen a lot of video manufacturers at Interop who are providing similar solutions and many companies looking to determine how to provide video as part of their service. Those already offering VoIP are seeking to add video to their total overall solution.
As for growth rates globally, Zmora noted there is a lot of interest in APAC on the vendor side; many companies and consumer electronic manufacturers in this region are taking notice as it is becoming mass market. There has already been - and continues to be - a lot of deployment in Europe and the U.S.
When asked what is next for Radvision, Zmora said "I think we are positioned today very well, providing on one hand, an end-to-end video solution starting from software clients, hardware-based desktop solutions through our partnership with Samsung (News - Alert)…and our lately released room system solution. Complimenting this is our conferencing solution."
On the consumer electronic manufacturers and vendor side, Radvision is providing highly integrated client frameworks and service solutions to allow them to build UC software solutions, including video - and hardware solutions to meet growing demands.
