Mitsubishi Uses Broadcom's Bluetooth Technology for Advanced Audio Capabilities

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Broadband Corporation, whose products enable the delivery of voice, video, and multimedia data to the home, office and mobile environments, revealed that their highly developed Bluetooth technology has been chosen by Mitsubishi (News - Alert) Electronics America for streaming stereo audio to the premium audio systems built into select Mitsubishi Unisen Immersive Sound LED televisions.

Broadcom's (News - Alert) Bluetooth technology will allow digital music players and wireless MP3s to be an ideal sound supplement for Unisen HDTVs. The Bluetooth solutions have been modified and improved by Broadcom to get wider implementation in consumer electronics applications like wireless audio streaming and highly-developed remote control functionality. Mitsubishi implemented this technology for numerous new models in their portfolio of large screen 3D DLP Home Cinema Unisen Immersive Sound LED TVs.

Integrated digital music player capabilities keep on being added to smartphone handsets as consumers increasingly depend on these devices as their main music players. Nearly all of today's smartphones have Bluetooth capabilities. This makes it very easy to stream music from the handset, via wireless technology, to a premium audio system.

Select Mitsubishi 3D DLP Home Cinema TVs and Unisen Immersive Sound LED televisions, integrated with Broadcom's Bluetooth technology, allow consumers to connect their smartphones or other Bluetooth enabled MP3 players easily.

Frank DeMartin, the vice president of marketing at Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, stated that Mitsubishi's premium audio quality is a trademark of its immersive sound television products. Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America is offering a high-end home theater experience to their consumers. These home theater systems are integrated into a sleek LED flat panel or large screen 3D TV package available only from Mitsubishi.

DeMartin added that Mitsubishi is delighted to collaborate with Broadcom Corporation (News - Alert) to bring the premium audio experience to personal media devices. The Bluetooth technology provides the Unisen Immersive Sound television with an ideal wireless connection.
