Alcatel-Lucent Appoints Pascal Homsy as the Head of Activities in France

Pascal Homsy has been appointed as the head of Alcatel-Lucent's activities in France and director of the France Telecom (News - Alert)/Orange Global account, the company has announced. Pascal Homsy is a graduate of Télécom ParisTech.

Starting his career with Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert), Pascal Homsy held different positions in marketing, sales for the South-East Asian region within the company's Switching and Routing Systems activities. He held various positions in pre-sales and sales at Philips (News - Alert)-TRT and Lucent Technologies and was the vice president for Fixed broadband wireless activities until 2003.

Managing the France Telecom/Orange account for Alcatel-Lucent, Pascal brings 15 years of experience in the telecoms industry. In his new position, he will assume overall responsibility for managing the day-to-day business activities of Alcatel-Lucent in France, taking the lead on strategic business directions for the Group in the country. Pascal Homsy was in charge of the France Telecom/Orange Global account for Alcatel-Lucent since January 2008.

His comprehensive experience in our industry as well as his extensive knowledge in sales, in particular with France Telecom-Orange, will be key assets to pursue what Pierre Barnabé has strongly developed. There is no doubt Pascal will reinforce the company's business in France," said Adolfo Hernandez, president of Alcatel-Lucent's activities in EMEA.\Pascale Homsy was managing the sales support activities in the Europe & South region for the Carrier business group in 2007. He was vice president Voice and Services in the Fixed solutions division from 2004 to 2007. He was also in charge of Fixed networks for the Alcatel CIT French branch.

Recently, the company enhanced its microwave packet radio portfolio for the North American market with additional features and support for additional frequency bands. The company has added various new features to its Alcatel-Lucent 9500 Microwave Packet Radio. According to company officials, this helps the customers in making a all important shift to Long Term Evolution mobile data services.
